- Day 1 – Discussion text read and look at the features.
- Day 2 – Label the features of a discussion text using the Day 1 guidance.
- Day 3 – Using the Year 5 relative clauses warm-up ppt, revise what relative clauses are. Then, research for your own piece of writing – Should we relax lockdown early? Research both sides of the argument, making notes.
- Day 4 – Using the Year 6 Grammar revision Guide and Quick Quiz powerpoint, revise relative clauses. Then, using notes from yesterday, write a discussion : Should we relax lockdown early? Look back at the features of a discussion from Day 2 to make sure that you include relevant techniques.
- Day 5 - Relative clauses test. Then research and create a discussion on either: ** and ***Do the NHS deserve a pay rise? OR * Is lockdown easier to do when it is sunny?
For your discussion, look at the structure of the discussion texts from day 1 and day 2, and try to include features that you labelled on day 2. Specific focus on including well-planned relative clauses.
