Academic Year 2016-17
In Year 1 we have started our themed week by discovering which items sink and float in water. We have looked at lots of different materials and discussed why some items sink or float and discovered that denser materials sink!
Year 1 had a fantastic afternoon at the Theatre Severn to watch the pantomime!
Wow! What a fantastic nativity from the whole of Key Stage 1! The children were fantastic and the staff are very proud of them all!!
Year 1 have had a lovely lunch today as the dinner staff cooked a wonderful Christmas Dinner! Can you spot the new member of staff serving the puddings? Ava even managed to beat Miss Turner at the Christmas Cracker battle!
A HUGE Merry Christmas from everyone in Year 1!!
Year 1 have started back at school with a brilliant attitude to learning! Today some of the children went around the school with Mr Johnson on a 3D shape hunt.
Today in Year 1 we have been designing and creating our own flowers to link in with our plants topic! The children have been using Purple Mash on the school's ICT equipment to come up with their own designs. Here is Lillie-Mae creating her vase full of flowers!
This week has seen us explore 3D shapes! Some of the children have been out hunting for these shapes around school. Here's Tommy with his cuboid discovery!
We've had a very exciting day in Year 1 today! Our maths focus this week is weight and some children have entered this focus by weighing out ingredients for their own cakes!
Yesterday we went outside in our Science lesson with Mrs Hampton to see which bugs we could find around our school!
